In the mid-1980’s, God brought together a group of Spirit-filled believers for a weekly Bible Study, led by Michael and Mary Ulffers. We were hungry for more of God. It became clear that God wanted this group to step out in faith. Together, they birthed Living Word Church in October of 1992, under the guidance of Pastor Rodney Lensch of Omaha, Nebraska. The Church began meeting in an upper room of a city-owned building in downtown Stromsburg, Nebraska, in the heart of the nation.
Pastor Richard and Holly Lang and Pastor Ron and Della Kunz, respectively, were our pastors from 1993-2003 - each built a foundation for what God is getting ready to do in Living Word Church International.
Pastor Michael and Mary of Stromsburg, NE were installed on November 30, 2005. They have a passion for the things of the Kingdom of God and to encourage people to grow in faith and to walk in victory in the seasons of their lives.
As the youth began to grow and leave for post high school directions, their own hearts were awakened to help this younger generation find their purpose and destiny in an exciting relationship with Jesus Christ. They formed a young adult band called 365 On, in February of 2006. This group has since become the worship team for our regular services and monthly concerts for Middle School, High School and young adults of this area.
With a heart for global outreach, many members of LWCI have had foreign mission experiences around the world. We have been involved greatly with Youth With A Mission all over the world for long and short term mission opportunities. We want to build vision and give encouragement to those who have a call to missions, either short or long term.
We have a God-given mission before us which includes being a significant church that loves God and loves people.
